Information disclosure under the RTI Act, 2005

In compliance with the Right to Information Act, 2005, the Stationery Department, Government of Kerala, makes available information about its functioning, decisions and records to citizens. This page lists the designated officers and the procedure for filing RTI applications.

How to File an RTI Application

  1. Write your application in English or Malayalam, addressed to the SPIO of the Stationery Department.
  2. Clearly mention the information being sought and the period to which it relates.
  3. Provide your full name, postal address and contact number.
  4. Pay the prescribed application fee of ₹10 by Indian Postal Order, Court Fee Stamp, Demand Draft or treasury chalan in favour of the Controller of Stationery, Thiruvananthapuram.
  5. Submit the application by post or in person at the SPIO's office.

BPL Applicants

No fee, on production of valid BPL certificate.

Timelines

  • Information is generally provided within 30 days of receipt of the application by the SPIO.
  • Information concerning life or liberty of a person is provided within 48 hours.
  • If the application is transferred to another authority, the timeline is calculated from the date of receipt by that authority.

Suo Motu Disclosure (Section 4)

The department periodically publishes information mandated under Section 4(1)(b) of the RTI Act — including details about its organisation, functions, duties of officers, decision-making channels, norms, rules, regulations, manuals and the directory of officers.
